Once every two years, the Particle Data Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories publishes their Review of Particle Physics. This is both a web site and thick magazine, about the size of the New York telephone directory. The production issues associated with such a volume are so complex that, even though it’s only published biennially, publication is distributed among several physics journal publishers; in 2010 it was published by Journal of Physics; this year it was published by Physical Review D.
In other words, it’s a big deal.

I went to Hobbytown again last night for their game night. Once again, I had a good time, despite the fact I’d been feeling under the weather earlier in the day.
I played two games:

I wanted to let some folks know: Right now, all my work on Isaac Bonewits’ biography has stopped. I’m dealing with health issues. That has to be my “project” for now.
If you’d like to volunteer any memories, materials, thoughts, ideas, or contacts, I’ll be glad to receive them. The best place to send them is the special e-mail address I set up: bonewits.research (at) gmail.com. But I can’t promise any follow-ups, even to code the materials, until I’m better.
I had tentative plans to attend Pantheacon 2013 and Wellspring 2013 to speak to many who knew Isaac. I truly want to be well enough by then to make those trips. Right now, I don’t know.
I ask for neither prayers nor healing energy. So many, far too many, of the people with whom I wish to speak have health issues of their own. Instead, I ask that you be healthy and well until that time comes when we can talk of Isaac — and stay healthy and well for many years after!
I’ve already posted this as a Facebook status, so some of you may be seeing this twice. Please forgive the topic stutter.
There’s a game store in Nanuet NY, Hobbytown. Every Thursday they have a game night at the store, starting at 7:30PM or so and going until late in the evening. I’ve known about the game night for a few weeks, but I’ve been immersed in my health problems and haven’t been able to go.

This morning, I dreamed that I walked in the Merchants Parade at the New York Ren Faire. In the dream, I did everything I used to do: exhorting the patrons to smile and wave, giving out huzzahs to the merchants along the way.
This is the first time I’ve had this dream. I didn’t have it during the 14 years I actually walked in the parade, and it’s been three years since I was a merchant at the Faire. I wonder why I’m having this dream now?
It was definitely a Six of Wands moment.
