Acorn Garden is off sabbatical

It may be foolish, but I’m open to resume teaching Acorn Garden again.

Why foolish? Honestly, I don’t think there are many students out there anymore who are interested in what I choose to teach.

The Gardnerian Tradition in which I was trained involves scholarship, structure, an aspiration to excellence. Sure, dancing naked in the woods is still there, but it’s part of the larger goal of becoming clergy.

It may be my imagination (it probably is), but folks seem more interested in learning Wicca from TikTok than writing essays on their favorite goddess.

There’s also a practical reality: I continue to isolate due to medical concerns. That means that anyone who wants to study with me has to test negative before they come to my place.

One of the things that folks are looking for is a community of fellow practitioners. Acorn Garden has always been small, or at least smaller than I would like. If someone drops out because they want to be part of a bigger group, then that adds an impetus to the remaining members to leave as well.

Anyway, my web site is still up. People can write to me. I’ll see if anything happens.

If nothing does, at least I can be proud of the track record of all those who’ve passed through Acorn Garden on their way to finding their goals.
