Background: Neil Newbon is the actor who supplied voice, performance capture, and direction for the character of Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3 (among many other roles).
I’d planned to get Real Angela a cameo for her birthday. At the last minute, I realized that I’d totally forgotten.
I went to the cameo site and put in for a fast delivery. Frankly, I didn’t have much hope that Neil Newbon would be able to respond in time, if for no other reason than the time difference between US and England.
This is what I sent in my request to him:
My friend Angela played BG3 for the first time, and despised Astarion. She thought him selfish and immature. Then, just to see what it was like, she romanced him in her second playthrough, and was stunned by his personal growth as she encouraged his self-respect. She thought it was the best writing she’d seen in the game so far. Perhaps you can share a thought or two on what you think about the character, and whether you agree with her reaction.
I’m asking on short notice; if this can’t happen by her birthday, just say it’s belated and that Bill is sorry he was late.
