I had just started walking to lunch today (yay, exercise!) when I started coughing. This was no minor cough. It was a five-minute coughing fit with lots of disgusting side symptoms.
I inched my way back to my car and drove to get lunch. At this moment my chest feels sore, but I’m not sure if it’s due to all the coughing or something else.
Where’s the blessing? Simple: I’ve got a three-day weekend with absolutely nothing scheduled. If I had to get sick, this is the weekend to do it. I’ve got plenty of soup and tea at home. I can focus on resting and getting well.
There are many people who don’t have this luxury. For what I have, I give much thanks.
And I haven’t forgotten the obligation of those who have: to share something with those who haven’t. But not this weekend.
