Today I took my cats Jiku and Shuba to the vet. There's nothing wrong with them in particular. It was their usual annual check-up. Some years of experience taught me that it helps to get the cats accustomed to their carriers. I normally keep the carriers on the floor of my apartment, under a chair or in…
It's been another year of three guys sharing an apartment. Two of them are gay. One of them is human. Hilarity ensues. Jiku and Shuba wish you a Happy Adoption Day!
Four years ago today, two teeny kittens chose to share their lives with me. There's been a shift in their behavior over the past year. They've become less social with each other. I understand that this is normal for cats as they grow older. The principle issue that has emerged in the past year is their increasing…
Just when I thought it was safe to open a box: It's Soul Raiders! This is the Deluxe Grimoire Edition. Shuba approves. Jiku also likes the look of the game. "Hey, Shuba! The game looks nice, but the box the game came in is even better!" "You're right, Jiku. Also, the box is much tastier." I don't…

Today (19-Jun-2024) is the third anniversary of the day I accepted a couple of cute kittens into my home. By now Jiku, Shuba, and I have settled into our lives together. Jiku and Shuba wish you a Happy Adaption…

Awaken Realms' Vault Story Dice are fancy optional dice for use in various games. You can easily make out the boxes that contain the Tainted Grail and Etherfields dice. What's in the other three? Actually,…
I recently received Kings of Ruin, the latest game in the Tainted Grail saga. Awaken Realms specializes in these large-scale narrative games that come with elaborate miniatures, and Kings of Ruin is no exception. Let's see what the cats think of it. Let's look at the game from the less-relevant human perspective. Narratively, Kings of Ruin is…
As I'm finishing my lunch, I hear a sequence of beeps that sound like a fire alarm go off somewhere in my apartment complex. This is not unusual, so I wait a minute or two for someone to take care of it. (Technically, Wrong Thing #1.) I stick my head out of my apartment. Amongst the beeps…
We all know what it means to receive a new game: Cat pictures!
