
Honestly, I had not intended this to be a four-part essay.
When I wrote the first post on Arctic Druid’s Angela’s specs in Baldur’s Gate 3, I thought I was done.
The second post was supposed to be an update of her build after some additional research, plus a story.
When that post got too long, I separated the story into a third post.
Here we are at post four.
The battle continues
It took me a couple of days to write the previous two posts.
When I returned to BG3, I discovered that I’d left the big battle’s test session running on my PS5. I took a quick look at the game. I saw that Druid Angela, Karma, and Wings were still standing around. I decided to walk them over to Sorcerous Sundries.
I’m not sure why. It was just an idle thought.

Bear in mind that there had been no Long Rests. No one had a lot of spell slots left. I’d given Karma and Wings some mildly better gear, but nothing extraordinary. I’d resummoned Scratch and Us, but they had no buffs.
I was not set up for this battle. Tactician difficulty. No mods. Arctic Druid Angela with her weakest minions. No advanced prep. A couple of Clerics spec’ed as Protectors, with sub-standard armor and weapons, with mostly empty gear slots.



It was the first serious begin-to-end fight for both Karma and Wings, and their first kills.



What about that date?
After reading part three, Real Angela pointed out that I’d never given the Dryad a name.
She suggested Daphne. In Greek mythology, she was a nymph who had been transformed into a tree.

Real Angela observed that, with these pictures, I’ve finally observed all the fanfic tropes.
When setting up these photos, I felt like Rick Moranis’ character, Dark Helmet, in the Mel Brooks movie Spaceballs: playing with my BG3 Action Figure dolls.
While I intend to write about Arctic Druid Angela after this, it will be an entirely separate adventure. I don’t think there’ll be a post five in this sequence.
But who knows? When you’re dealing with egregores, expect the unexpected.
