I tried to donate blood again tonight. Once again, my iron level was too low. It's in the normal range, but for blood donations they have a narrower range of acceptance.
I got some tips from the phlebotomist and I'll give it another try. However, it's occurred to me that maybe blood donations are simply not the method for me to give.
I'll guess I'll have to find something else to do to ease my conscience.
I have a friend who donates platelets, I believe? The process is a bit longer, but supposedly not nearly as bad as giving whole blood. Might be worth asking about, though not sure if iron levels would affect that as well.
